Full transcript of Houston meeting minutes

The Board of Directors is asking for your feedback on the following items that came up at the January 28th Board meeting in Houston:

  1. The Board received a proposal from Karen Oleson requesting that the minimum number of days required for sanctioning be reduced from 60 to 30 days from closing. The on-line processes that have been enabled in our systems have streamlined the sanctioning method to make this possible.

In the January meeting, Scott Stein made a motion to change the sanctioning period to 30 days prior to the closing with a minimum of a 20 day closing period. Todd Morningstar seconded the motion. Brian Fay made a motion to table the motion pending comment from the flyball community. Todd seconded the motion. There was no opposition to the motion. The rules committee will propose new wording.

The Board is asking for input from the NAFA RDs, host teams and competitors on this item. Please email flyball@flyball.org with your feedback.

  2. Sam Ford reviewed his plans with the Board regarding proposed regional realignment for fiscal 2007. Todd Morningstar made a motion that effective 10/01/06, that the states of New Mexico and Wyoming be added to Region 19.

Sam made a request that the board invite comments from the participants in Region 6 and 16 to gather their opinions on the merits of restructuring their regions. It is expected that this matter will be addressed by formal recommendation from Sam and tendered for Board approval at the next meeting of the Board. Participants from Regions 6 and 16 – please send your comments to Sam at flyball@flyball.org.
