Emma's nomination letter

Submitted by Robin Harrington

Emma was lovingly called the "Most Perfect Dog". She was adopted at 1 year old by Kate Corum and started her flyball career in 2006 with Chattanooga Chomp. She helped 3 different Region 14 clubs get on their feet in their early days - Chattanooga Chomp, Gamblers, and Dixie Flyers. Earning the bragging right of fastest Golden Retriever with a time of 4.022, she still holds the record. While she never earned her Iron Dog due to an injury and you won't find her high on the Top Point Earning Dog list, the value Emma brought to her team was immeasurable. During her 8 years in the lanes, she helped countless dogs earn their first titles. She was always the perfect training assistant at practices, helping proof green dogs and handlers. Not only did Emma play a critical part training dogs on clubs across Region 14, she also led her mom to become a trainer that many turn to for advice today. She was known across the region, and outside of it, for her glowing smile in the lanes. Emma came full circle back to Chattanooga Chomp and ended her career in 2016 running Veterans at 12 years old.
